Introductions

Hello! Thank you for visiting my page! My name is Vanessa Funk and I’m a photographer. I love photographing commercials, editorials and food. I really enjoy telling a story with my images; whether it’s fashion, food, or portraits. On this blog I hope to really explore my passion for food. Photographing it and as well as cooking it.

A little bit about myself; I went back to school at the ripe age of 30 and I originally went back for radiography. After taking an art class, I decided to go for my dream of becoming a photographer. While attending CCBC (Community College of Baltimore County) Essex for Fine Arts with a concentration in photography, I formed a very strong bond with my photography professor, Bob Creamer. He became my mentor and still is to this day. My biggest dream is to prove Bob right for believing in me. When I graduated from CCBC, I tried the family photography route but found I didn’t really enjoy it. I really wanted to see my work out in the world. So, I decided to change focus and I started assisting commercial photographers around the area. I fell in love with commercial photography. I loved all of the details that went into creating just one image. It was amazing! This is what I wanted to do. However, I’ve encountered health issues that would cause me to put my photography career on the back burner for a little while. And that is partly what this blog is for, to help me keep in practice and to put my work out into the world. Creating blogs involves creating very detailed oriented images, forming a portfolio of images, and allows me to share my work. The other part is to share my recipes or recipes that I’ve found to be very helpful to me or just tastes good.

In this blog you’ll find that I put the recipes first. Mainly because I when I’m looking for recipes, and I find them on blogs they’re all the way at the bottom of the page. I know there’s usually a “jump to recipes” button or link but I’m trying something different. There will still be a blog about the recipe, with helpful hints and tips and more detailed entry of how I did everything, but it will just be under the recipe.

Thank you so much for joining me on this journey!
